Diamondhogs Hammer Louisiana Tech In Game 3

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. ? Shaun Seibert pitched five strong innings and the Arkansas offense exploded for 10 runs on 13 hits to sweep Louisiana Tech with a 10-2 win on Saturday afternoon at Baum Stadium in front of 4,043 fans. Arkansas averaged 11 runs and 13 hits in the three-game series with the Bulldogs to improve to 9-0 on the season. Tech falls to 3-7 with the loss. Seibert (1-0) was outstanding in his first start of the season. The sophomore right-hander allowed three hits, struck out six and did not issue a walk. He faced just two batters over the minimum. The Hogs put the game away with five runs on five hits in the first inning. The big hit was Brian Walker?s towering two-run home run to right field. Blake Parker added a two-RBI triple into the right-center field gap and Danny Hamblin singled home a run. Hamblin extended his hitting streak to seven games. Arkansas added a run in the second, two in the third inning and single tallies in the fifth and sixth to lead 10-0. Hollensworth led the Razorbacks? offensive attack all weekend. He went 3 for 4 on Saturday and finished the series with five hits in 10 at bats with two doubles, three RBI and four runs scored. Hamblin finished 2 for 4 on Saturday with a run scored and two RBI. Parker collected two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. Every member of the Hogs? starting lineup collected at least on hit on the day. James Gilbert and Brian McLelland both pitched one inning of relief. Lee Land lasted just one-third of an inning and Daryl Maday finished off the final 1.2 innings. Arkansas is now 12-0 against Louisiana Tech in Fayetteville and 17-2 against the Bulldogs all time. The Razorbacks leave for the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, Hawai?i Sunday morning. Arkansas takes on Washington on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., Texas-Arlington on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. and host Hawai?i at 10:35 p.m. on Thursday. UA will then play a semifinal on Friday and a final on Saturday morning.
