FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Arkansas plays host to Radford Saturday at 3:06 p.m. in a game televised by FSN. The Razorbacks are 2-2 while Radford, coming off Tuesdays win over East Tennessee State, is 3-1. Following is a partial transcript of head coach Stan Heaths press conference.
"Radford is 3-1. Theyve had some good wins against Bowling Green and East Tennessee. Their team plays very fast. They shoot the ball quickly and have good ball skills. They do not have tremendous size and well have to take advantage of that.
"The guys came back and were open-eared today in practice. I think well play well on Saturday.
"Our legs were a little wobbly, but between stretching, fluids and rest, we should be okay. They always say playing 24 to 48 hours after a trip like that is dangerous. We went about an hour and 15 minutes today and worked on some key things we might see.
"We didnt get a lot into the things we need to attack from the tournament. Really good teams dont overlook anybody. If weve matured like I think, we should be ready."
Maui Invitational Recap:
"Were not satisfied with a 1-2 record, but we felt except for the first five or six minutes of the Connecticut game and the last five or six of the Maryland game, we played pretty good. We have to rebound and play better defense. We will clean up those things and get better.
"Arkansas, Arizona, Michigan State and Maryland all won one Division I game. That puts it in perspective. I think we held our own."
Vincent Hunter:
"Its my decision (whether or not he plays Saturday). Hes not 100 percent. There are two sides - he can play through it and we can try to get him ready or we can rest him. Well watch him Saturday to see how he moves around."
Ronnie Brewer:
"He was a little dead-legged today. His sleep pattern isnt back on track. Hopefully he will get a good nights rest.
"I expect by Monday we will be fully ready to go both mentally and physically. Our interior defense and rebounding are the main things we will focus on."
