Jones Still Waiting for Contract

Updated: November 10, 2006
Sources tell KNWA that Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Matt Jones still doesn`t have a contract in place and probably won`t until at least Saturday. The former Razorback is the only Jaguars rookie not to have signed, but he`s also the only Jags first round pick. Very few of the 32 first round NFL picks have signed. Many are expected to get a contract over the next couple of days. Jones was the 21st overall pick and hopes to be in camp on time but will not report without a contract. It`s not unusual for a rookie to miss 3 or 4 days of camp. However, Jones` agents have never had a holdout. Bo Mattingly will be in Jacksonville on Saturday for the very latest at 6 & 10.
