Shoplifters Beware: Someone is Watching

If you walk out without paying at Drug Emporium on Rodney Parham in Little Rock, you can expect to end up on what we've dubbed the "Window of Infamy".

Several pictures of shoplifters are already on display, with the store's manager telling us the purpose is twofold -- to ask those in the community if they know those pictured and to warn shoplifters that someone is watching when you try to snatch their store's inventory.

"It makes people more aware of what's going on -- plus when they are coming in and out of stores, somebody might know them," shopper Joseph Ripp said.

"People shoplifting need to know who do it and when they do it , because it's bad. It's against the law," Drug Emporium customer Bijan Williams agreed.

"If they hungry they gotta do what they gotta do. But it's wrong, we know it's wrong," said Downell Boyd.

The store's staff say they've always been able to review video and see shoplifters stealing, but with an updated system they can print out still photos and put them on display. So far, they say it seems to be curbing the crime.
