Healthy Living: D-H-A Supplements for Pregnancy

There appear to be significant benefits to taking D-H-A supplements during pregnanct. Researchers at the University of Kansas compared outcomes of 300 expectant mothers and half took D-H-A supplements. A type of Omega-3 fatty acid, during the last half of their pregnancies. Babies whose mothers took the suplements were almsot a half pound heavier than those mothers who did not take any supplements. The babies were also less likely to be born prematurely. No negative side effects were found.
