CLINTON, AR - A natural gas explosion in Van Buren County prompted the evacuation of 25 homes Monday afternoon.

That's according to the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM).

Dispatch for the Clinton Police Department says the blast and fire that followed happened at a BHP Billiton facility near Clinton in the Burnt Ridge neighborhood.

No injuries were reported and the fire has since been put out.

ADEM says about 35 to 40 people have been affected by the evacuations.
