The Little Rock Marathon pushes thousands of runners to do their best, and that includes some very small participants.

A group of special needs children has put their obstacles behind them to finish the Little Rockers Kids Marathon. They completed their mileage today at the McClellan High School track.

Little Rock Parks & Recreation's Therapeutic Recreation Division has been training the more than 80 area students for the kids marathon.

These students have been working since last October to build up their mileage and have averaged 4 miles a week.

They are students in the Community Based Instruction (CBI) program, who learn a wide range of living skills to help them reach independence within the community as an adult.

More than 1,800 children will earn their finisher's medals at the Little Rockers Kids Marathon on Saturday, March 2nd.
