Update: Travel on I-40 West Through Prairie County Back to Normal

The detour has ended and travel through the area has returned to normal.
Update (February 5, 8:45 a.m.):
The fog in the area has lifted and the detour started at nine o'clock.
It will last until noon.

Tuesday morning fog in the area has delayed the start of this detour that was set to begin at seven o'clock.
We'll post an update when highway officials release more information.

Travelers taking Interstate 40 west through the Hazen area will want to take a different route on Tuesday morning.
Arkansas State Highway & Transportation Department officials say crews performing repair work will require the temporary closure of the westbound lane east of Hazen, starting at seven o'clock.
A tractor trailer went off the freeway around 11:15 Sunday night and is still stuck in water alongside the White River. The truck is expected to be removed tomorrow.
Crews will be making repairs near the White River bridge, including installation of a new guardrail heavily damaged in the accident.
The detour that begins at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday is expected to take about three hours.
Westbound traffic will be detoured to Highway 70 at Exit 202.
