Some students at Lisa Academy in Sherwood, taking their first robotics class and turning it into a win win situation.

When Lisa Academy students Layne, Jon and Ebon began their first robotic challenge, they weren't sure they could make it.

"It seemed somewhat impossible," said Ebon Paddock.

It would take the team three tries before getting Benny the robot ready for competition in Searcy, where they came in second place, Benny's challenge.

"Getting as many rings as you possibly could on different levels of a rack," explained Paddock.

Now team three is ready for its second mission, building another robot, this time the competition is in Fayetteville.

"We are about three weeks in, but it will be something that will be able to launch frisbees, at about 20 feet high in the air," added Paddock.

Lisa Academy Counselor, Ersin Denirci said these guys are certainly flying high, what started out as a club is now a class, preparing them for their future.

"I definitely see them in an engineering or STEM field, for sure, cause they are just awesome," added Denirci.

"I know I want to end up going somewhere in the engineering field, so this has definitely helped me out, said Paddock.

The team heads to Fayetteville in March.

If they win, they will move on to Nationals in St. Louis.
