Update: Entergy Power Outages Drop to Just a Few Hundred

One week after a snowstorm, Entergy Arkansas has restored power to everyone except for just a few hundred customers still left in the dark.
The majority of those customers are in Pulaski County, with smaller numbers in 10 other counties.
Update 9:00 a.m. Tuesday:
Power outage numbers continue to go up and down as Entergy Arkansas crews work around the clock.
As of 9 o'clock this morning, around 2,400 were still in the dark. The majority of those (about 1,100) are in Pope County.
Update 11:50 p.m. Monday:
Entergy outages are now around 1,200 with about 950 of those being in Pulaski County.
Update 8:20 p.m. Monday:
Entergy Arkansas is nearing completion of the massive restoration effort that has been ongoing since Christmas.
There were just under 2,000 customers without service at 8 p.m. At the peak, 194,000 Entergy Arkansas customers had lost power.
The operations team has begun ramping down the nearly 5,000 workers called in to help restore power to customers after the storm. As outages become fewer and more isolated, fewer workers are needed to manage the remaining outages.
Update 4:25 p.m. Monday:
Entergy outages are now around 5,100 with 3,700 of those being in Pulaski County.
Update 2:30 p.m. Monday:
Entergy outages are now around 6,100 with 4,500 of those being in Pulaski County.
In an email this afternoon, Little Rock Mayor Mark Stodola updated the power outage numbers in the city, saying:
- About 93% of the power outages in Little Rock have been restored
- Entergy is still targeting to have all power outages restored by tomorrow night (Jan. 1) but they hope to have the majority of the remaining outages restored even sooner
- Entergy crews are making steady progress, but today's rainy weather has been slowing things down some. Absent anymore freezing rain, Entergy believes things will move according to plan.
Entergy outages are now around 9,500 with 7,300 of those being in Pulaski County.
Entergy says restoration should conclude, weather permitting, as follows:
- Today in the areas in and around Hot Springs, Malvern, West Saline County, South Pulaski County.
- By Tuesday in the areas of West Little Rock and West Pulaski County.
Entergy outages are now around 11,000 with 9,000 of those being in Pulaski County.
Update, 8:45 p.m. Sunday:
Entergy outages are now below 15,000 with 11,000 of those being in Pulaski County.
These current statistics are comparable to a typical severe storm.
This time Friday, 80,000 customers were without power. That means the 4,000 linemen working to restore power in Central Arkansas have brought the lights back on for 65,000 customers in just 48 hours.
All power is expected to be restored by the end of the day Tuesday.
Update, 5:00 p.m. Sunday:
Entergy outages have now dipped below 25,000 as power continues to be restored across Central Arkansas.
Currently, the bulk of outages is in Pulaski County where 20,000 customers remain in the dark.
Around 4:30 p.m., roughly 5,000 customers in West Little Rock lost power. A KARK viewer reports power crews on-sight told him power should be back on in two hours.

Entergy outages are now below 30,000 across Central Arkansas. Pulaski County remains the largest area of concern with 21,000 of those outages.

25,000 outages are being reported in Pulaski County. All other counties have 4,000 or fewer customers in the dark. You can see a chart of county-by-county outages to the right.
Today crews are expected to target their efforts on Benton, Bryant, Mt. Ida, Glenwood and Jacksonville.
Update, 5:20 p.m. Saturday:
Entergy outages have now dropped to nearly 50,000 customers without electricity. As of now, Pulaski is the only county reporting more than 5,000 outages.
Currently, about 35,000 customers in Pulaski are in the dark. That figure is down from 46,000 last night.
Garland, Hot Spring, and Saline Counties are all reporting just more than 4,000 outages.
Update, 1:00 p.m. Saturday:
Entergy is now reporting 65,000 outages across Central Arkansas.
Crews appear to be making the most progress in Garland County where there are now 8,000 customers without power. This time Friday, roughly 21,000 customers didn't have electricity.

Entergy power outages have now dropped below 80,000 customers.
In Pulaski County, 46,400 customers are in the dark. 11,830 customers are without power in Garland County, 7,500 in Saline County and about 5,000 in Hot Spring County.
Power has been restored to roughly 20,000 customers in Pulaski County since the day began. At 5 a.m., about 65,000 residents in the county didn't have electricity.
On its Twitter account, Entergy posted, "we have made significant progress today."

Entergy says its outages have now dipped below 90,000. Currently, the company reports 89,562 customers in the dark.
52,000 Pulaski County residents are in the dark. Power was restored to more than 10,000 customers in the county Friday.

Entergy now reports fewer than 100,000 customers without power. That's down from 194,000 at the height of the outage.
57,000 people in Pulaski County remain in the dark. That's down from 64,000 this morning.

Entergy outages are now down to 112,000 customers.
65,000 of the outages are in Pulaski County. In Garland County, about 20,000 customers remain in the dark.
Damage assessments were still under way Thursday as some 4,000 additional workers began arriving. Among the crews assisting in restoration work in Arkansas are Entergy personnel from Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.

The number of Entergy outages has jumped by 10,000 in the last few hours to 142,000 customers.

After dropping to about 130,000 outages early this morning, the number of Entergy customers in the dark has inched back up to 138,000.
The new outages appear to be in Pulaski and Saline counties, for the most part.

This morning, 130,000 Arkansas remain in the dark with the majority of those residents living in Pulaski County.

Entergy outages are now at 136,000 customers. That figure is down about 50,000 from its peak this morning.
The company hopes to restore power Thursday in Pine Bluff, Stuttgart, Lonoke, Marion and Forrest City.
Blytheville and Jacksonville should be back online Friday.

Entergy reports its outages are now down to 143,000. First Electric Cooperative says it has 23,000 customers in the dark.

Electric crews braving the conditions appear to be making some progress.
As of noon, the number of power outages reported by Entergy dropped to 176,000. That's down from around 192,000.

Entergy say s its hopeful to get the majority of customers back online in the next few days. Areas with most damage may take 7 days.

Entergy says it now has helicopters in the air to help survey the damage.
At least 11 distribution lines are out and at least 12 substations down due to ice.

Entergy is reporting more than 190,000 customers are without power. The hardest hit counties include Pulaski Co., with 92,000 customers, Garland Co., with 26,000 customers, and Saline Co., with 16,000.
Entergy says additional crews that were scheduled on a just-in-case basis have arrived in Central Arkansas to help out. The company is requested an additional 1,000 lineman.
Entergy says its crews are facing hazardous conditions.
Additionally, First Electric says 20,000 of its customers are without power. Many of the phone lines they use to report outages are not working.
Update, 12:00 a.m. Wednesday:
Entergy is reporting 161,857 customers are without power. The hardest hit counties include Pulaski Co., with 80,363 customers, Garland Co., with 24,971 customers, and Saline Co., with 15,825.
Update, 11:00 p.m. Tuesday:
In the last 30 minutes, another 20,000 customer have lost power bringing the total number of outages to more than 150,000.
Roughly 50,000 of the outages are in West Little Rock.
Update, 10:30 p.m. Tuesday:
Entergy was reporting more than 130,000 customers without power as of 10:30 p.m.

A winter storm had nearly 95,000 Entergy customers in the dark as of 9:00 p.m. Tuesday.
Roughly 35,000 of those outages were in West Little Rock. Pulaski County had about 37,000 outages.
Other counties with large outages include Garland, Hot Spring, Saline, and White.
Entergy says its called in additional crews from across the region.
