Razorback Offensive Coordinator Says Best Players Must Carry Team

Tyler Wilson's still not cleared to play Saturday but he's not limited at all in practice. The Razorbacks are game planning as if #8 will be in the huddle.

"Tyler looked real good," senior tight end Chris Gragg said after Tuesday's practice. "Actually he was throwing the ball a little harder than he usually does. I told him he might have to slow it down a little bit."

"It was a great day out there at practice," offensive coordinator Paul Petrino described. "(Wilson) looked really good. Good energy. Good fire. It's like a new beginning. We're going to start over and get after it and move on from this point on and start winning."

The Hogs are desperate, backed into a corner and the coaching staff is holding every single member of the team accountable, beginning with its leaders.

"Our best players, those are the guys that have got to take the team and put them on their back and go make a big play and win!" Petrino exclaimed. "That's their job. That's what I do as a great player. I go make great plays and will my team to victory. That's what they all need to do."

The harsh reality of a 1-2 record is nobody's job is safe, including Knile Davis, who's rushing stats resemble nothing of his breakout season in 2010.

"He needs to play better. He knows it. We know it," Petrino explained. "He needs to come out and play better."

"We just need to do the little things right," Davis said. "We need to execute. The biggest thing for us is execution. That's the bottom line. There's no little mind game, mind trick. We just need to execute."

"The guys that have great effort are going to play in the game. Period," Petrino added. "The guys that don't aren't going to play. So that's the bottom line."

Because Arkansas simply cannot stomach another embarrassing performance.
