"It was a bad day," said Offensive Coordinator Paul Petrino. "I thought we had a good plan. We just have to show up tomorrow, come back and work our tails off." (Click here for Petrino's post-game comments)
For Petrino, this was the first time he could remember being a part of an offense that couldn't score in a football game. For the quarterbacks in this game, Brandon Allen and Brandon Mitchell, the game and performance were a tough pill to swallow.
It's fair to say freshman quarterback Brandon Allen was put in a position he wasn't quite ready for. However, that's not something Allen would be willing to admit. Allen said despite comments from injured quarterback Tyler Wilson that the team quit, they worked hard throughout the game.
"It was sloppy out there, I guess," Allen said in response to a question about why Wilson would say the team quit at times against Alabama. "Just watching us play, anyone might think that we quit." (Click here for Allen's post-game comments)
"Sometimes you look at the scoreboard and some guys know the game's over," said quarterback and wide receiver Brandon Mitchell. "I think the guys fought until the last whistle." (Click here for Mitchell's post-game comments)
