Razorbacks' 1st Game to be on Pay-Per-View

By: University of Arkansas Athletics
Updated: August 21, 2012
Arkansas' football season-opening game against Jacksonville State on Sept. 1 will be televised in high definition (HD) on a pay-per-view basis. The broadcast is presented by AT&T and produced by Razorback Sports Properties through the Razorback Sports Network from IMG.

"As part of the ongoing commitment to our fans, we worked with Razorback Sports Properties to produce the highest-quality HD broadcast of Razorback Football," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "The game will be offered in high definition on satellite and by select cable systems with HD channel availability. Fans should check their local listings for game and HD availability in their areas."

The cost of the pay-per-view broadcast is $34.95, except for DirecTV and Dish Network where a cost of $39.95 is required by both satellite providers to make the game available to their subscribers.

Fans should contact their cable and satellite providers for ordering information.

As of Aug. 21, the game will be made available by the affiliates listed below with HD broadcasts noted. If an area is not listed, fans should contact their cable or satellite provider for more information.

Fans also may purchase the pay-per-view for viewing in HD on their computer through ArkansasRazorbacks.com's RazorVision. Per SEC guidelines, the pay-per-view broadcast on the computer is not part of the RazorVision subscription and must be purchased separately.

Scott Inman will handle the play-by-play call with Jimmy Dykes providing color commentary and former Razorback Michael Smith on the sideline. Inman has been a sports anchor at KATV since 1999 and is in his 14th year working as a co-host for the pre-game show and post-game Scoreboard Show on the Razorback Sports Network. Dykes is in his 19th year as an analyst at ESPN and is a former basketball letterman at Arkansas.

The 10th-ranked Razorbacks face the Gamecocks at 6 p.m. inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. Tickets are still available for $45 and may be purchased online at ArkansasRazorbacks.com, in person at the Razorback Ticket Center or by phone at 800-982-HOGS. Fans ordering tickets online have the option to print the tickets from home utilizing UA's new eTicket system.

I can%u2019t believe football season is already here; I love watching SEC games and I plan on getting the Arkansas season opener through Dish pay-per-view. I just got a new HDTV set and I can%u2019t wait to watch the Arkansas season opener next month. My coworkers at Dish said that the picture quality for sports in HD is a great experience from what I%u2019m used to and they%u2019re right! I%u2019ve seen some preseason football games on HD and I can%u2019t wait to see how it looks for college games.
