UofA Football: Adams in Final Round of "Best Play" Espy Voting

FAYETTEVILLE - Former Arkansas wide receiver Joe Adams' exciting 60-yard punt return touchdown vs. Tennessee from last season has advanced to the Final Round of voting for the ESPY Award for Best Play. Fans can once again vote online at ESPN.com/ESPYS/BestPlayVote as voting has reset for the last round.

The play took place in the first quarter of Arkansas' 49-7 victory over the Volunteers in Fayetteville on Nov. 12 and was recognized as the top play on that night's SportsCenter. With the Razorbacks holding a 7-0 lead, Adams fielded the punt at the UA 40-yard line and then moved toward the right sideline before retreating back to the 30-yard line. He appeared to be pinned in by a wall of Tennessee defenders but broke seven tackles before weaving his way through blockers past the 50-yard line, where he was able to take off down the right sideline untouched the rest of the way to the end zone.

Best Play is a bracket-style vote, and Adams' play, which was the No. 2 seed, is the highest seeded among the four still in the running for the ESPY. Also in the final round is Indiana University's 3-pointer to beat Kentucky, an over-the-wall catch from the NWAACC Baseball Championships and Edson Barboza's wheel kick KO at UFC 142. Voting for the winner of the ESPY will remain open through the ESPYS Countdown Show and will close when the show begins at 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

The 20th ESPYS are live on Wednesday, July 11th at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles with host Rob Riggle. The event is the one night where the sports world joins together to celebrate the best moments of the year. The ESPYS and related events benefit the V Foundation for Cancer Research in memory of the late Jim Valvano.
