The 2012 Summer Olympic Games are just weeks away, but several Hogs are hoping to make the trip across the pond to London.

Beginning Thursday in Eugene, Oregon, the best of the best in track and field will compete in the United States trials, including a few athletes from the University of Arkansas.

Kevin Lazas is competing in the decathlon, he said, "I'm so excited, I've been losing sleep at night because I am thinking about it so much, and hopefully, I can go out there, compete well, and do my best."

Stephanie Brown is a long distance runner, she said, "People dream about this, and I'm one of those people, but to actually have it be a reality is like 'whoa'."

Caleb Cross is running the 400 meter hurdles at the trials, he said, "It's just like a dream come true. Every since I was like five years old I've wanted to be a track runner, other people wanted to play basketball, or play football, but I've always wanted to run track and this is just a dream come true."

The U of A also has several international tracksters hoping to make the national team for their respective countries.
