Miller County Escapees Back in Custody

Both Miller County escapees are back in custody this morning.
Law enforcement arrested Cortez Hooper, 23, and Quincy Stewart, 36, at a residence in Texarkana Thursday around 6:00 P.M.
We are told, when officers arrived Hooper and Stewart tried to run, but were caught again.
If you remember, Sunday night the two inmates, who were in jail awaiting trials for murder, used a hacksaw blade to cut through metal bars and jumped out out of jail.
Authorities will hold a press conference today to provide more information on their capture.

Windstream to Layoff of 375-400 Employees

Little Rock based Windstream, laying off 400 managers within the company.
Windstream isn't hurting for money, according to government filings, the company raked in $6 billion last year.
The decision was made after the company realized it was management heavy. There is no word on how many Arkansas employees will be affected.
Windstream employs 1,300 people in Arkansas.

Girl State Takes Over The Capitol

At some point the torch will be passed to the next generation of Americans, and about 900 high school girls from that generation took on the State Capitol as part of Arkansas Girls State.
Girls State is a non-partisan group aiming to get young girls involved in politics and government.
They learn by running mock elections, introducing and debating mock bills and temporarily holding elected office.
Girls State, which has existed for over 60 years, ends Friday.
