An NWS storm survey team in the area today made the determination late this morning.
The storm struck shortly after 6PM, according to NWS storm reports posted last night.
The report noted that trees were blown down onto power lines near the town of Fairbanks along State Highway 356 and stated that "there is a possibility that this was a brief tornado."
The NWS says its team in the area is continuing the survey.

An unoccupied home burned to the ground after a lightning strike in the Ada Valley community (about 6.6 miles west of Oppelo in Conway County). Although no one was living in the house, possessions belonging to the owner's late mother were in the house and were destroyed. The lightning struck a tree adjacent to the house and apparently traveled into the house via a power line. The house was built in 1949.
