NLR Police Investigate Indian Hills Burglaries

North Little Rock police are investigating a rash of robberies in the Indian Hills and Lakewood neighborhoods where they say a suspect started with cars but has moved on to breaking into homes.

Authorities tell KARK there were three burglaries Monday and five total in recent days. Residents in both areas are concerned about the uptick in crime. Police say thieves have broken into homes and cars stealing jewelry, video equipment and in three cases, guns.

One of the stolen guns belonged to a former state trooper.  Not only did burglars steal his gun, police say they got away with an ID badge identifying him as law enforcement.

The bold nature of the crimes have many residents on edge.

"We are thinking of getting a security system which we never thought we would get, we tell neighbors if we're going to be out of town and even if we're going to be gone for the night.  Our neighbor who got her door kicked in, she wasn't even gone an hour, " said Donna Lentz.

Authorities describe the suspect as possibly a black male driving an older model bluish/gray Oldsmobile or Chevrolet. If you have any information about any of these cases, please call North Little Rock Police.
