Former University of Arkansas defensive coordinator John Thompson is on a leave of abscence at South Carolina and will not coach the Gamecocks in their bowl game. When reached for comment Friday night, Thompson told Matt Turner of the Razorback Nation team, "I have not resigned...the university put me on a leave of abscence for contractual reasons." Thompson added that nothing else is going on, other than a contract disagreement between himself and the University of South Carolina.
