No one was hurt in the accident, but drivers found it difficult to navigate around the emergency personnel.

For many it's the only way to get to where they're going.

"I'm through here everyday," said a driver we spoke with, "I drive everyday through this area... I have seen some accidents."

Drivers have almost grown accustomed to the frustration that goes along with using the route and the delays from fender benders and even more serious accidents.

"I've rolled up on some," said another driver, "And you know I've had to wait, got delayed... It happens all the time."

Danny Straessle with the Arkansas Highway Department said they've worked hard to complete work on the intestates and not disrupt drivers.

"The ultimate goal is to keep traffic moving," Straessle said.

Work won't be complete until 2014, so drivers need to remain vigilant.

"It's a very critical area where motorists need to pay attention when they're going through the work zone," he said.

Lanes shifting and signs indicating alternative routes have become the norm, but the highway department says they'll take all the necessary steps to keep drivers safe.

"We follow federal guidelines for traffic control signage," Straessle said. "Everything is thought through completely."

Some however still wonder why a better option isn't available.

"Opposed to trying to come to a dead stop off the freeway."
