The Little Rock Marathon is pumping a lot of cash into the city.

Little Rock Marathon organizers say they expect the event to generate at least 4.3 million dollars this weekend.

The majority of that money is going to hotels, especially downtown.

Thirteen-thousand participants will hit the streets of Little Rock during this weekend's races.

Organizers are trying to think of ways to keep visitors and their wallets here longer. The races take place Sunday morning beginning at six o'clock.

The entire event is expected to last more than eight hours.

Organizers recommend you find alternate routes on Sunday since the race will shutdown some streets.
