For those who couldn't make it to church for Ash Wednesday, ashes and blessings came to the people.

Saint Michael's Episcopal Church and San Damiano Catholic Church set up something of an Ash Wednesday drive-thru in the Pleasant Ridge Town Center.

Pastors say offering ashes to go is a reminder that prayer and healing isn't confined to a building.

"We believe the church is about people and about relationships, about building community about getting out and being engaged in service, so we want to be where the people are," says Father Fred Ball with San Damiano Catholic Church.

This is the second year the two churches have joined to offer ashes on the go, and they say more than 60 people turned out to take part in the offering.
