El Dorado Hires New Police Chief

El Dorado's Civil Service Commission selected Captain Billy White of
the El Dorado Police Department to replace Chief Ricky Roberts.
White was one of seven applicants interviewed for the position.
Among some of the other candidates were officers from the police department and a retired law enforcement officer from Monroe, La.
"I was ecstatic, I was ecstatic. There was tough competition and the civil service commission did their work. They put a lot of time and effort into their decision and it was a hard decision for them to make," said White.
White has been with the El Dorado Police Department for 22 years and will assume his new position on Feb. 1.
