A child safety bill was approved by state senators on Wednesday.
The Judiciary Committee approved a sex offender ban at pools and playgrounds in state parks.
The law would apply to level 3 and 4 offenders.
Senator Missy Irvin, who sponsored the bill, included an emergency clause that would allow the ban to take effect immediately after passage.
