A Central Arkansas police officer being called a hero after he rushed into a burning home and saved the life of an elderly woman during the Christmas Holidays.

I just wanted to get her to safety, I hate it that her house burned up, but that could be replaced, she can't."

Benton Police Officer Christopher Goss, risked his life when he rushed into a burning home and made his way through a plume of thick smoke, coming out with an 88 year old woman.

"I was never worried, I knew they would, the 9-1-1 people in that area are superb, said Jan Adams-Buyers, the woman's daughter."

"They are fast and they are charming, added Adams-Buyers."

Goss, says he didn't think twice about going in the burning home, he only had one mission to accomplish, bringing her out alive.

This could have turned out a lot worse, but it didn't and the family is grateful.

"Thank you for coming quickly and thank you for grabbing her up, and getting her out safely, cause I wasn't about to try and get her out with the ice, said Adams-Buyers."

"I'd do it again, said Goss."

The family says they believe the fire started with the fire place.

What a nice story and a change from the normal depressing news. The officer is a hero no doubt. However, what a horribly written story, sounds as if it was written by an eight year old.
