People are trying to stay warm the best way they know how.

That means using fireplaces.

The Little Rock Fire Department tells KARK multiple fires have started because of fireplaces not being clean.

Their advice?

Make sure you hire a reputable service to do the cleaning.

Don't put too much wood in the fireplace.

And they remind you not to bring anything into your home not designed for indoor heating.
