Benton Police Searching for Armed Robbery Suspect

The Benton Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a gas station on I-30 Thursday afternoon.

Police responded to the call at Phillips 66 at 15541 I-30 just after 1:30, where a suspect described as 5 feet 9 inches to 6 feet tall with a heavyset build displayed a pistol before fleeing the business with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hat with white lettering, a black shirt with white lettering and blue jeans.

No one was injured during the robbery.

Police say detectives are diligently working leads in the case and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
