With the Thanksgiving holiday behind us, it's time to get out the Christmas decorations.

The Rogers Historical Museum is offering a few ideas when it comes to decking the halls.

It's hosting a "Winter Wonderland" at the Hawkins House, using traditional decorating ideas straight out of old magazines published between 1895 and 1913.

You'll get an idea of how Christmas was celebrated in the Victorian Era, way before Santa ever set foot in the local mall.

"They really give people a glimpse into the past into the way the holidays were celebrated back a hundred years ago. But they still can provide some inspiration  for people who like to decorate in a Victorian or early 20th century  style today, give them some ideas for things they can do," says Gaye Bland, the Rogers Historical Museum Director.

You'll see everything from sports they enjoyed in the winter months, to the way they handled the weather with the lack of a central heating unit.

The event runs through December 31st.
