The Second Annual Verizon 2k and 5k run was held in Little Rock Thursday afternoon for the company to show their commitment to leading an active lifestyle.
Organizers say promoting exercise not only keeps their bodies healthy, but also helps employees in the office.
"Well it's about public health. Obviously you're going to need healthy employees, they'll be more educated in terms of what to eat, you know get good quality sleep, so it affects the bottom line in terms of absentees and rates go down, the productivity of employees goes up and just overall mural is just fantastic in terms of understanding and loving to work for Verizon Wireless," says Jason Cook, Coordinator at South Central Verizon Headquarters.
The run also helps bring awareness to the growing issue of domestic violence, in support of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
