Fire Destroys Yell County Home For A Second Time

"I just thought no not again," said neighbor Janet Minnie.

Minnie said this is the second time in six years the family has gone through the pain of watching all their possessions burn.

"We'll probably respond as a community like we usually do," she said.

Responding with prayers, food and donations, the way many communities do after such a loss.

Multiple fires is unfortunately not the only reason the family has needed to lean on their neighbor's shoulders.

"There's been a rally to raise funds for their son Devon who has cancer," she said.

The family did not want to speak on camera but said they have no plans of rebuilding again.

They do want to thank all the fire crews that raced to their house so quickly.

"We have great, great volunteer firemen out here," said Minnie. "I commended them because they jump from their jobs and into their fire jobs and made it."

Early indications are the fire was electrical and the family did not have insurance.

This serves as a reminder that when you set your clocks ahead an hour you should also replace the battery in your smoke detectors.
