Controlled Burn Coming to North Little Rock's Burns Park

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: February 12, 2013
A prescribed burn in North Little Rock's Burns Park is needed to minimize the chance of a dangerous, unintended forest fire in the future.

This burn has been planned and recommended by the Arkansas Forestry Commission, Central Arkansas Master Naturalists, The Nature Conservancy and the North Little Rock Fire Department.

The controlled burn will be held at periodic times over the next two months, depending on weather conditions.

A 2 page quick fact sheet can be found here and the complete 30 page "Burn Plan" may be viewed on the North Little Rock's Parks and Recreation website at nlrpr.org.
