About a dozen homeowners say they're not only concerned that a group home in their neighborhood will decrease the value of their homes, but that they're also worried about the type of people who would be moving in.
The Little Rock Planning Commission is discussing the proposed home and researching what type of modifications could be made to accommodate the residents and appease the neighbors.
Residents are mainly concerned with how many people would live there, the number of vehicles that would be parked there and who would actually move in.
Neighbor Bill May says, "I think this is a great idea, just the wrong place."
The Planning Commission is not turning a blind eye to the situation.
Director of Planning and Development says, "The commission is very interested in this issue and is trying to gather as much information as possible about group homes."
This meeting was not an opportunity for the public to express their concerns, and no decision was scheduled to be made at the meeting.
The Planning Commission will place this topic on the next meeting agenda, and that's when the public can voice their concerns.
