Flu Deaths in the Natural State Total 27

Since Thanksgiving 27 people in Arkansas have died from the flu.

The State Department of Health is asking you to keep up with your efforts to avoid the illness.

Spokesperson for the Arkansas Department of Health Ed Barham says, "Stay away from people who are sick.  If you are sick stay home until you don't have a fever for 24 hours."

Barham also says the flu remains very active west of the Mississippi River and especailly among the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.
