If you need to get through you should use the regular police department number for non-emergencies which is 982-3191.

Keep in mind the short time this connection was interrupted had nothing to do with the department's emergency services. Meaning 9-1-1 stayed operational.

Police officials said everyone has been pitching in to help during this move into the new facility.

"Our citizen's Police Academy volunteers are assisting us in answering the phones and taking messages," said Captain Kenny Boyd. "While the normal office people are out trying to move into the new building."

So far no date has been set for when the department will be completely moved into their new building.
