Wife Holds Dance Fundraiser For Answers In Husband's Death

The owner of the local skating rink was found shot to death in his home, but no weapon was ever found.

Now the family of Larry Billings is refusing to give up on finding his killer.

You may remember his children raised $15,000 in November for reward money, but now Billings' wife is making sure his case isn't forgotten.

The Zumba dance craze is a great way to lose a few unwanted pounds, but Lavenia Billings is working out for a bigger reason than simply her own vanity.

"Exercise is a good stress reliever of course," Billings said. She's been using the work out as a way to get through the death of her husband Larry.

"He was murdered so it's been a very very trying time," she said.

At the end of October Larry was found shot in his home in Conway, his truck was missing.

There were no signs of struggle and no murder weapon found.

"He was very good to the community here," said friend of the family Kimberly Peace.

So what better place to hold a dance fundraiser for him, Peace helped organize the event.

"Whatever it is we have to do," she said. "Because we loved Larry Billings... We feel that whoever did this should be brought to justice."

His wife hopes to add whatever they can to the $15,000 already raised for any information leading to an arrest and conviction in the case.

"This is just something I enjoy doing so I thought maybe do this to add to that reward," Billings said.

Working out alongside those who cared so deeply for her husband.

While Billings wished there had been more who came Saturday, she said the most important thing is people don't forget what happened to her husband.
