Ouachita Baptist University to Honor Memory of Little Rock News Anchor

Ouachita Baptist University is honoring the late Matt Turner.

Turner died last year in a car accident. He was a longtime news anchor at KARK sister station KNWA before joining KTHV in Little Rock. Turner graduated from OBU in 2002 after majoring in Mass Communications.

To honor his memory, the university has created The Matt Turner Outstanding Junior Mass Communications Student Award.

Turner interned for a Little Rock television station his junior year of college and said it helped him determine he wanted to go into broadcasting.

The award will be announce at OBU'S Annual Academic Awards Banquet every spring. This year's event has been set for May 2nd.
