"This community here at Mount St. Mary's... everyone feels like a family," said Dana Renard, former student and president of the booster club.
The Mount St. Mary family has been rooted in Little Rock since 1851, educating generations of young women. Mothers and Daughters share something in common.
"I was very excited for my daughter to come to school here and experience the same thing I experienced," said Renard.
Her daughter Kelsey said, "It's a really good atmosphere. It's all girls, so you don't have to worry about what you look like when you get up in the morning."
The school family has now come together for their latest project- a cookbook to benefit student activities called Belle Appetit.
Renard said, "This is the first cookbook that's ever been done at Mount St. Mary's."
Favorite recipes came pouring in from parents, teachers, and students- both past and present.
"We have appetizers, soups, salads, main dishes, breads and rolls, and desserts," said Renard. "And we also have a tailgating section."
In the cookbook you'll find more about the school's rich history. Over the years, there have been renovations and expansions. But the school's focus remains on what they call "Mercy Values."
Kelsey Renard explained what those values mean to her. "Just ways to live your life," she said. "It's kind of a guideline of how to act and what makes us good people."
The Belle Appetit cookbook is $25. You can find an order form at http://www.mtstmary.edu/
