KARK Team Shares Memories of Matt Turner

Members of the KARK news team are sharing their thoughts on the death of colleague and former co-worker Matt Turner. Turner, who died Saturday night, worked at KARK sister station KNWA in Northwest Arkansas for nine years before joining KTHV in Little Rock.

Matt was living his dream of being a husband, father and an anchor. For it to be ripped away before he had a chance to enjoy it, truly upsets me. We know life's not fair but that doesn't make it any easier.

Matt was a great guy. I was happy for Matt when he got the job at THV. While at KNWA, he stayed in touch while covering news around the state. When he was in town, I could always count on a hearty, "Hey Bob, how are you doing man?" followed up by a vice grip of a handshake.

When you saw him having a good time on-air, it was the real deal. He was loving every second and never took a single viewer for granted. I was looking forward to seeing Matt in the field. He brought a freshness to everything he did and that will be missed.

Aaron Peters
The world lost a beautiful shining star. It's hard to understand the level of pain we all feel right now. Prayers for the Turner family as he leaves behind a beautiful wife and little baby girl.

As a TV anchor, he was special. As a person, he made you feel better just being around him.

God, take good care of Matt for us. He will be missed more than imaginable.
