I Will Never Stop Fighting to
Survive Breast Cancer - Jeannie Wilson
I am a 3 year survivor of breast
cancer. My diagnosis was in October of 2003. I missed the race that year. The
following year, after double-mastectomies and chemo, I was ready to join the
race.I was a survivor and so happy to share this with anyone that would
understand. This first race was the most memorable moment of my life. Crossing
the finish line was my greatest success.I have friends that didn`t survive. Why
I am here and they are not, is a question only God can answer. I race for them
and to give something back. My cancer was HER-2 positive. That meant a year of
Herceptin treatments.
Now I`m ready to go again....and I
will be at the Race for the Cure every year to celebrate my life and remember
the lives of those who didn`t survive. I made a quilt out of my cancer tee
shirts. It is a treasure that I want to share with my sisters at the race. I
will never stop fighting to survive Breast Cancer. I will fight for myself and
for you, all of you!
