I Have Raced as Long as I Can Remember  -  Donna Neal

I am a survivor and blessed for a fact! It all happened to me in 1991 and the experience was one of the scariest times in my life. With the help of friends, family and the grace of God. I was able to endure everything that was involved. So, the reason I race is because I have done it for as long as I can remember! I started after 1991, and have been a supporter and walked ever since. It is an emotional time for me also because I lost a sister-in-law, mother-in-law and I have 2 sister-in-laws (sisters of the diseased) that have survived this awful disease. This year will be hard for me as I have been recovering from 2 broken hips and will not be able to walk. The first hip had a fracture and healed by itself, but the other hip was a break and I had to have total hip replacement, in Feb. Such a silly granny I am; I broke the hip playing with my, then, 2 ½ yr old grandson! I have registered for the race and will proudly wear my pink shirt and be at the race, but at this time, I am not sure I will be able to do the walk. I am practicing on the treadmill tho! My daughter is going to run this year as I have told her I did not think I could walk, but I will be there to celebrate with everyone, whether I walk or clap!

 Look forward to race/walk day!
