My Mother is a 43-Year Survivor! - Elizabeth Harmon/Dallas, TX
My mother is a 43 year survivor and 82 years old. Mother did not believe she would live to see my brother or I graduate high school. I was 7 when she was diagnosed in her late 30’s. Since then she has lived to see her granddaughter currently age 28, graduate college, marry and share in the joy of her great granddaughter’s birth now 20 months old. We participated in the Family Fun Walk and she carried a flag in the survivor parade Saturday! In addition, to celebrating her many years of survival with prayer to offer hope to those who are currently undergoing treatment, we walked with my bonus daughter and grandaughter in memory of my two bonus daughter’s and bonus son’s mother who lost the battle about 14 years ago. We walked in honor of all those touched by breast cancer and with prayer for a cure to touch the generations that follow.
