For My Sister and Me--Both Survivors! -Alice Fogle Abson, Little Rock
I race in celebration of life, my sister-- Mattie Fogle Carson, and myself- Alice Fogle Abson. We both are survivors, she in Los Angeles and me in Little Rock. My sister has participated in our race for a number of years. She comes home specifically to walk with all the beautiful supporters of this grand effort. One year, she was recovering from surgery that had been performed just 3 days prior to the race. She insisted on participating in the race. When my co-workers heard of this, they obtained a wheelchair in order for me to push her. She is a strong woman and said she would walk the distance. It took us longer to finish, but we made it.
I race in celebration to those of us who are still in the struggle and in memory to those who are now cancer free
