Now to how you can keep more green in your pocketbook...

With everything from the price of gas -- to airline tickets going up, travel is hitting Arkansans' pocketbooks hard.

But we caught up with some local travelers who've opted for the rail to get them to their summer destinations.

"When I look into the fares for Amtrak, I was really amazed that I actually had to call the attendant to make sure it was round trip fare, so I was very pleased with the rate," Felicia Mansfield, who's taking the train for the first time.

"When I first started 5 or 6 years ago, there was a lot of seats on the train. Now it's hard to find a seat to sit with your family," Alice Sieving said, who's riding with her grandchildren to Chicago.

And Amtrak officials tell us July has been so busy, they've actually had to turn away some travelers from the Little Rock station because trains have been full.
