Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
It is good to see Harrison Ford back in one of the movies
that made him an icon. It is obvious from the first appearance of the hat and
bull-whip that the years have not slowed down Ford. Also nice to see was the
return of Karen Allen, who plays Indiana's
first and best, in our opinion, love interest and foil, Marion Ravenwood. She brings with her a surprise
in the form of Shia LaBeouf, who plays Jones' son, Mutt Williams. LaBeouf did a great job
playing the 50's rebel, and with the action sequences required of him. One of
the stand-out scenes were a sword fight between Cate Blanchett, who seemed to
enjoy playing the bad girl and LaBeouf. The most gut wrenching scene in the movie is when at the end Mutt catches Indiana Jones' wind blown hat and goes to put it on, it is quite the relief when Indiana snatches it back, not yet junior. While LeBeouf shows promise he does not yet have big enough feet to fill Harrison Ford's shoes.
All in all, Lucas and Spielberg do not disappoint. Much ado has been made about this film being unbelievable but sometimes who needs believable when you can escape with something fun. While it may not be
as good as the first, this one is just what you would expect an entertaining & action-packed film.
