For many of us, when were kids riding a bike was the best way to get around.
But with high gas prices these days, more and more people are rolling back the clock.
"There's a lot people riding bikes now who were laughing at us 5 years ago,” sales Arkansas Cycling and Fitness Representative Robert Ayers.
Ayers says about 10 percent of their customers now purchase bikes for their morning commutes to work.
And he says all of the employees here ride their bikes to work at least once a week.
Many people of course are now turning to hybrid cars. At Landers Toyota, it's not unusual for them to sell 8 or 9 a day.
But for some people, that's still not a financial option... and they have to depend on the cars they already have.
There's a lot of things people say you can do to improve fuel efficiency...but if you ignore the basics... any attempt is a total wash.
Most auto mechanics say the best ways are the simplest ones...such as keep your tires inflated, have your filter checked during an oil change, replace your fuel filter at least once a year... which can be crucial.
"If you just keep you fuel filter... And the fuel is struggling to get through there... On some models you will burn up a fuel pump which can cost you 600 dollars," says auto mechanic Landon Garrett.
