A
youth leadership summit is taking some local kids to new heights this weekend.
And
that's good news for students at the Arkansas School for the Blind.
They
left early Saturday morning for a conference in Ft. Smith where they'll meet
Erik Weihenmayer. Erik is the only blind person to have
climbed the seven summits -- the tallest peaks on every continent. The students say they're looking forward to
learning from such an inspirational man...
"If
he is blind and he climbed the world's tallest mountain, that means anyone can
do anything they want to. And that doesn't mean that just because they have a
visual impairment, they should let that stop them from achieving their
dreams," Arkansas School for the Blind Student, Antonio Del Real
Sunday,
the kids will tackle Arkansas' tallest peak. They'll climb Mt. Magazine with Erik at their
side.
