Big names are stepping up effort to lure shoppers flush with economic stimulus plan dollars into their stores. For example at Sears and Kmart, you can exchange your checks for a gift card and a discount. Earlier this week, Wal-Mart announced it will cash your check for free and offer reduced prices. The store's goal is to draw shoppes in to spend money.
