What are some ways you can "go green" and save money?

There are many things you can do to save time and money in your pocketbook.

Last night we told you about energy efficient light bulbs, but there's much more you can do.

New energy efficient water heaters, washers, dryers and other electrical appliances will save you tons on your power bills.

Wash your clothes in cold or warm water. Almost 90 percent of energy used in washing comes from heating the water. Also don't overload your washer or dryer and change the lint filter before every load.

Also make sure the pot fits the burner you're using, saves you $36 bucks a year. Plus cooking in a microwave can be nearly five times more energy efficient than a tradition oven. Zapping your meal can reduce energy by 70 percent.

Also make sure your dishwasher is full when you run it. You can save 20 gallons of water per load, that's 73 hundred gallons a year, By the way that's half the water you drink in your lifetime.

If you must drive there are ways to save on gas. You can ease up on the gas and brake pedal. Make sure your tires are inflated. And don't idle too long.

It's very important to make sure your house is properly insulated. That will save on heating and coolings costs.
