The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recently released a report stating that one in four teenage girls have some kind of sexually transmitted disease. The number of Syphilis cases in the U.S. has gone up for the seventh year in a row. The CDC says that the increase in the sexually transmitted disease is among homosexual and bisexual men as well. They also reported that this group accounts for sixty four percent of syphilis cases last year. The sexually transmitted disease known as syphilis can be passed along to a person through direct contact with a syphilis sore. A person that carries this disease is also at a higher risk of contracting the AIDS virus as well as infecting other people. One health expert says multiple partners and high-risk sexual behavior such as not using condoms put people at greater risk for developing HIV and syphilis
