All public and private schools in Conway, as well as the citys two sports centers are now equipped with Automated External Defibrillators, or AEDs. Conway Regional Medical Center donated the devices at a cost of 25 thousand dollars, paid for with proceeds from the 2007 Conway Regional Golf Classic. The president and CEO says having AEDs in public areas can make a difference in saving lives. The medical center says they plan to buy AEDs for schools in Faulkner County, including Mayflower and Mt. Vernon.
